⚠️ Notice: Tempered glass cannot be reprocessed. Please carefully confirm all specifications and dimensions before production.
📝 Tempered Glass Characteristics
Tempered glass, also known as toughened glass, is a type of safety glass processed through controlled thermal or chemical treatments. It undergoes a special quenching process—heating to around 620ºC and then rapidly cooling with air jets—which modifies its internal structure to enhance performance.
✔️
High Strength: 3-5 times higher impact resistance than regular float glass.
✔️
Safety First: Shatters into small, rounded granular pieces instead of sharp shards.
✔️
Thermal Stability: Withstands temperature differences up to 200-300ºC.
✔️
Versatile Usage: Ideal for shower rooms, windows, curtain walls, and fencing.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is your minimum order quantity?
Our MOQ is one 20 feet container (approx. 25 Tons). Different sizes and specifications can be mixed in a single container.
2. How can I get samples to check quality?
We offer glass samples for free to help you verify the material and finish before placing a bulk order.
3. Can you do customized production?
Yes, we have a professional technical team. We can produce glass based on your specific requirements and dimensions.
4. How much stronger is tempered glass compared to normal glass?
Tempered glass is approximately 3 to 5 times stronger than standard float glass of the same thickness in terms of impact resistance.
5. Can tempered glass be cut after it has been toughened?
No. All cutting, edging, and hole-drilling must be performed before the tempering process. Any attempt to cut it afterward will cause the glass to shatter.
6. What happens if tempered glass breaks?
Due to the internal tension created during manufacturing, it breaks into small, dull-edged granules rather than sharp shards, significantly reducing the risk of injury.
