The tempering process for channel glass up to 20' long utilizes specialized custom tempering ovens designed exclusively for three-dimensional channel glass. Our procedures and extensive experience yield dimensionally consistent glass high-performance results.
Tempered U channel glass is annealed channel glass that has undergone a second heat treatment to strengthen the glass and raise compression to 10,000 psi or greater. It is three to five times stronger than annealed glass and is characterized by its safe break pattern—small, harmless fragments known as "dicing," which significantly reduces the risk of injury.
Toughened U glass provides superior structural strength
Normal clear, tinted blue, tinted green, low iron, and ultra clear options are available. Customized sizes and patterns are available upon request.
