The tempering process for channel glass up to 20' long utilizes custom tempering ovens exclusively designed for three-dimensional channel glass. This machinery and experience yield dimensionally consistent glass.
Tempered U channel glass is annealed channel glass that has undergone a second heat treatment to raise compression to 10,000 psi or greater. It is three to five times stronger than annealed glass and is recognized by its break pattern—relatively small, harmless fragments (dicing), which markedly reduces the likelihood of injury.
Heated at 650 degrees Celsius onto the inside face of the channel, providing a colorfast, durable, scratch-resistant finish. Colors are available according to RAL or Pantone numbers.
Up to 5 times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness.
Excellent acoustic insulation properties for modern buildings.
More resistant to sudden changes in temperatures.
Much greater resistance to impact and repetitive load variations.
Superior deflection properties compared to standard flat glass.
Shatters into tiny pellets if broken, minimizing harm.
Available in normal clear, tinted blue, tinted green, low iron, or ultra clear options. Customized sizes and patterns are available to meet specific architectural requirements.
With over 20 years of experience, our manufacturing process offers one-stop solutions including designing-fabricating-installation guidance. Safety and reliability are our core priorities.
