Product Description

Tempered Low-E Glass

Insulating glass, also called insulated glass, are sealed units. It refers to two or more lites of glass glazed along the edges with spacers. The composed glass could be monolithic, or laminated glass, with or without coatings (low-e coating as typical). There are types of spacers available, such as stainless steel, aluminum, warm edge spacers in various colors. The space between the glass is sometimes filled with noble gas, such as argon or krypton. 90% filled, which is more helpful to reduce energy consuming. The most common architectural insulating glass unit configuration is 1/4" glass, 1/2" air space and 1/4" glass.

Commonly referred to as an "IGU," insulating glass is the most effective way to reduce air-to-air heat transfer through the glazing. When used in conjunction with low-E or reflective glass coatings, IGUs become an effective means to save energy. These units are often called double glazed units or triple glazed units depending on the number of panes processed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main benefits of using Insulating Glass (IGU)?
IGUs significantly reduce heat transfer, leading to improved energy efficiency for buildings. They also offer enhanced sound insulation and prevent condensation on the glass surface.
Can the insulating glass units be customized for specific shapes?
Yes, we provide various irregular shapes including Rectangular, Round, Oval, Trapezoid, and Parallel configurations with high-precision CNC polished edges.
What gases are used to fill the space between glass panes?
Standard units use dry air, but for higher thermal performance, noble gases like Argon or Krypton are used (typically 90% filled) to further reduce energy consumption.
What types of Low-E coatings do you offer?
We offer double silver low-e, triple silver low-e, and online hard coated low-e options, including high-performance products like Vitro Solarban and Guardian SN series.
What is the typical lead time for an order?
The lead time generally ranges from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the order and the total quantity required.
What are the maximum dimensions available for flat glass?
Our maximum size for flat tempered insulating glass is 18000mm in length and 3660mm in height.
