Acid Etched Glass Technicals
Acid Etched Glass is manufactured by heating flat glass to just below its softening temperature (650 °C) and suddenly chilling it with jets of cold air. This process results in the outer skins being under powerful compressive stress while the interior remains under severe tensile stress. Consequently, the impact applied to the glass is overcome by the compressive stress on the surfaces to ensure maximum safety.
Superior Strength: 5 times harder than ordinary float glass with high resistance to thermal breakage.
Safety First: Disintegrates into small cubical fragments upon breakage, minimizing injury risks.
Thermal Stability: Withstands abrupt temperature changes of up to 220 Centigrade.
Packaging: All glass products are packed in seaworthy plywood crates with fresh protective paper between glass pieces to prevent scratches and damage.
